Discover Weather Wines Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay
Showcasing one of California’s top AVAs for this essential Burgundian varietal, this Pinot Noir’s pale ruby-garnet color is pure enticement. Bright aromas of Rainier cherry, wild blueberry and earthiness are layered with hints of lilac and violet. A soft, delicate first taste expands with flavors of brambly fruits, cran-raspberry, blood orange and baking spices. Perfect acidity leads to a lifted vibrancy on the finish, generating impressive length and dimension. Grown in Russian River Valley and Los Carneros and aged for nine months in 30 percent new French oak barrels.
Weather Wines’ infatuation with Chardonnay continues with this elegantly-complex release from the esteemed Sonoma Coast AVA. The 2021 vintage is golden in the glass with deep straw-hued edges. Aromas of butterscotch, citrus crème, lemon meringue and white tropical fruit promise rich and layered flavors on the palate. Ripe Fuji apple, Anjou pear and peach pie notes are lifted by fragrant jasmine and tangerine blossom and a touch of crushed-stone minerality. Aged for nine months in 30 percent new French oak barrels this luscious Chardonnay shows great acidity with a lengthy, fleshy finish.
Weather’s second small-batch selection from Chenoweth Vineyard, a renowned site tucked amid the rolling coastal forests of the Russian River Valley. The nose is flush with cherry blossom, rhubarb pie, sarsaparilla and black tea. Flavors of cherry cola, black raspberry, holiday cranberry and clove envelop the palate with undercurrents of sleek minerality. Broadly textured with an energetic core, finishing with feathery tannins that promise staying power for several years to come. Classic Russian River Valley pinot noir structure and expression.
Sourced from Chenoweth Vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley AVA, a sweet-spot microclimate that’s cool but not too cold. Planted mostly to the Pommard clone, this pinot noir exhibits an elegant balance of fruit and earth.
