Discover Weather Wines Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay
Weather Wines’ first release of chardonnay. The 2020 Weather Sonoma Coast Chardonnay confirms this region for producing elegant and complex Burgundian varietals. The cool-climate Sonoma Coast experienced a warmer 2020 summer that led to early ripening and August harvest. This lively, floral chardonnay has aromas of spring white flowers and jasmine with chamomile and butter-poached pears. On the palate, flavors of baked apple tart and lemon confit with vanilla crème brûlée. Its fresh, nimble acidity and slight minerality lend refreshing balance to the richness.
Fuchsia tones in the glass with bright cran-raspberry aromas layered with rose petal and sea spray. Bright flavors of rhubarb pie, blood orange and vanilla crema then reveal an undertone of black tea, tobacco and toffee brittle. Integrated, complex and balanced the 2020 Weather Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir fires on all cylinders from one of the best microclimates for this varietal.
The 2019 Weather Napa Valley Pinot Noir is rich ruby red in the glass. Ripe cranberry and strawberry fragrances fill the glass, edged with spicy cocoa aromas. Redcurrant, raspberry and deep black cherry flavors dance on the palate, grounded by mocha and earthy tea notes from aging in new and neutral French oak for 13 months. Full-bodied and fleshy, this pinot noir perfectly balances its rich, velvety tannins with moderate acidity. Drink now or cellar for up to 8 years.
Weather’s second small-batch selection from Chenoweth Vineyard, a renowned site tucked amid the rolling coastal forests of the Russian River Valley. The nose is flush with cherry blossom, rhubarb pie, sarsaparilla and black tea. Flavors of cherry cola, black raspberry, holiday cranberry and clove envelop the palate with undercurrents of sleek minerality. Broadly textured with an energetic core, finishing with feathery tannins that promise staying power for several years to come. Classic Russian River Valley pinot noir structure and expression.
